In the centre of the island, but also in the East between Santanyí and Artà, there are several villages, where the Majorcan lifestyle is still being cherished. And from any of those village it is never more than 15 minutes by car to reach the next cove to bathe in.

Those, who are drawn to the country side, however do not need to sacrifice a good infrastructure here in Mallorca. Every region can be reached easily via motorway or the state road. And the sea is never far on an island anyway.

Currently country mansions with a relaxed Mediterranean flair are highly in demand. Regarding stone-cladded houses one often only realizes on the second or third look, whether they have been restored or newly built. Many details are preserved and have been refurbished with a sensitive hand and technical sophistication. Typical for Mallorca are the dry stone walls, wooden blinds and doorways made of the high quality sandstone from Binissalem and Santanyí.

Inside, modern country homes score with precious material and lots of comfort. Instead of jointless cement floors, traditional Majorcan tiles adorn the floors. And of course, mostly natural materials such as wooden beams, wooden doors, stone portals and visible masonry are being used. In combination with an open contemporary interior design, a generous ambiance is being created. Technical features such as underfloor heating, ecological climate systems and a cross linked utility management remain invisible.

More and more foreigners find joy in being wine makers and own a vineyard in Mallorca. The best wines are the ones you store in your own wine cellar - below an ornate vaulted ceiling, which is standard in historic mansions. Those, who don’t want to invest in their own vine might want to invest time in tasting the various, meanwhile rather decent, island wines.
